Tiara (Etheridge) Blue

Tiara (Etheridge) Blue is a Summa Cum Laude graduate at the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a minor in Sociology.  She is currently employed as a staff writer for the Durant Daily Democrat as a staff writer.

Blue recently married Christopher Blue, safety coordinator for TXI Aggregates, on Aug. 22, 2008. They chose to marry on the 22nd because they were both born on the 22nd — Tiara (Feb. 22) and Christopher (July 22).

Blue is a multimedia reporter with experience with HTML, video cameras, Avid, and Synapse, along with the trusty notebook and pen for basic print journalism.  Blue’s work has been published by The Oklahoma Daily, The Norman Transcript, The Daily Ardmoreite, Durant Daily Democrat, the Associated Press (one story was picked up as a Weekend Feature), SIN,The Southeastern, The HUB and various websites, and aired on OU Nightly.  She has won several local and national awards, including two Hearsts, awards often referred to as the Pulitzers of college journalism.
